empty set projects

This series began as a collaboration with Brooklyn filmmaker Hans Michaud when I sent him a copy of 4 panels from a Jack Kirby illustrated Fantastic Four comic to detourn. Hans is a master comic detourner and in true situationist spirit replied with the text for "I AM A COMMODITY!". The brown paper studies were full-size freehand enlargements for the finished black and white pieces which were sumi ink on matte acetates. The transparencies were lit from behind like lightboxes (withouth the boxes). All measure 32x33. Unfortunately the finished installation was never photographed.
